I was selected as a finalist for the CJF Jackman Award for Excellence in Journalism for my years-long investigations into the RCMP Tactical Internet Operation Support unit (TIOS).
Read about the nomination here (newswire.ca) and here (thetyee.ca). Watch the award Ceremony hosted by CBC’s Ginella Massa and actor Eric McCormack here.
Main story considered for the award was here:
Co-nominees included Jesse Brown for Canadaland, Sarah Cox for The Narwhal, Maan Alhmidi for “Open Canada”, and Terry Pender for The Record in Waterloo, ON.
The annual award honours Canadian publications that “embody exemplary journalism and have a profound positive impact on the communities they serve.”
Update June 10: The Narwhal won it for their (deserving) dive into Site C.
